RulesThe economy

How points work.

XP and points come only from verified participation. Absence and passive presence earn nothing. Showing up is worth less than doing a challenge, which is worth less than building something.

Table 01Earning

What earns, and how it is verified

Attendance pays the same whichever session it is. Turning up to a workshop and turning up on a Sunday are the same act, proved the same way, so pricing them differently would say something about the room rather than about you. What separates the rows above is what you did: presenting is worth as much as a merged pull request, because teaching a concept properly is building something.

Every verified line credits the same amount to two balances. XP is lifetime participation: it only grows, except through an audited reversal, and it sets your level. Points are what you can stake in the Arena. Arena results move points only, never XP, so nobody levels up by playing matches.

Table 02Streaks

Consecutive weeks pay more.

Each consecutive week of attendance adds 5 percent to attendance and workshop points, up to 1.50x. Miss a week and the streak returns to zero. One freeze token each calendar month protects a single genuine miss; use it in Settings within 48 hours after the session you missed.

Table 03Levels

Level N needs 100 × N1.5 XP.

Your level is the highest one your lifetime XP reaches, starting at 1. The threshold for each level is rounded up to a whole point. Worked example: with 500 XP you are level 2, because level 2 starts at 283 and level 3 starts at 520.

Table 04Recognition

Badges, titles and standings.

Badges unlock automatically when their condition is met. Titles are separate from levels: an administrator grants them for work that shaped the community, so you might read as level 14, Coherent, Educator. Weekly standings reset every Monday at 00:00 IST so a newcomer can top a week; all-time standings never reset.

Table 05The Arena

Stake points on a match of skill.

You issue a challenge and stake points. When another member accepts and matches the stake, both stakes lock until the match settles. The winner receives the pot minus a 5 percent rake. The rake is burned: removed from the economy entirely, never kept by anyone. A draw returns both stakes in full.

Points are game currency only. They can never be bought, sold, transferred or turned into money, and prizes are recognition, never cash.

Guardrails

  • 01A stake is at most 200 points or a quarter of your balance, whichever is lower.
  • 02You must keep at least 50 points after staking, and a balance never goes below zero.
  • 03At most five challenges a day, at most three open at once, and at most two settled matches against the same member in a week.
  • 04Ten minutes of cooldown after each settled match.
  • 05Entry needs an 18+ confirmation and two verified attendances.
  • 06Unaccepted challenges expire after 48 hours and the stake is returned.
  • 07Both players report the result. If they disagree, an admin settles it and the reason is recorded.
